Workshop A
8:00 am - 10:30 am Mitigating Light Rail PPP Project Risk through Effective Planning and Contract Governance
Experience has shown us that major PPP transport infrastructure projects are incredibly complex and difficult to deliver within budget and scheduled timelines. Project partners must overcome the challenge of delivering light rail infrastructure within crowded, built-up urban and CBD environments that involve communicating with multiple stakeholders both internal and external to the project, whilst also responding to found problems that can cause project delays.
In this workshop we will explore planning and contract governance strategies and project framework development that will help you mitigate against the many risks and complex challenges you will face during the delivery of your light rail infrastructure project.
- Developing effective financing structure and well-governed contracts that mitigate against project risks
- Inverted bid models, flexible tender bidding and managing complex PPP contracts to reduce the risk of contractual disputes
- PPP Risk transfer and alternative procurement structures
- Analysing the wider contingencies required in a high risk infrastructure project
- Performance regime and payment structure

11:00 am - 1:30 pm Light Rail Route Planning for Intermodal Integration and Urban Growth
At a time when major cities across Australia are involved with the delivery of major infrastructure across all modes of transport, the necessity of taking an intermodal approach to project planning has never been greater.
This workshop will explore the strategic asset planning strategies that need to be considered to ensure successful light rail infrastructure delivery in a multi-modal transport operating environment.

- Understanding Land capture and land use planning
