9:10 AM Exploring Public Transport Victoria’s Program of Works to Upgrade the Tram Network to a World Class System with Improved Accessibility, Capacity, Reliability and Safety

  • Investing $1.3 billion for new trams and supporting infrastructure to revitalise Melbourne’s tram network
  • Developing plans for infrastructure upgrades along Route 96 to improve access, safety, reliability and efficiency for tram customers using the route
  • Delivering 70 next-generation E-Class low floor trams to Melbourne’s network, along with upgrades to tram power, depots and termini to support the new trams
  • The Power Supply Upgrade Project – the construction, upgrade and installation of new substations, overhead and underground feeder cables and associated power infrastructure
