3:40 PM Smart Infrastructure Planning across Multi-Modal Transport Networks
Professor Washington will discuss some of the supporting infrastructure and policies essential for the successful implementation of light rail—many of which need to be considered during planning stages. The “lessons” to be learned are extracted from international best practice, and from research conducted in Australia
- Avoiding the perils of siloed transport planning across multi modal projects
- Land use density, mix and connectivity
- Developing a joined-up planning approach for improved net benefits and a reduction in the environmental impact of major transport projects
- Smart planning for improved project efficiency and risk mitigation
- What considerations are being made for the integration of our automated vehicle future?
